Sudipa Chatterjee and Ahmed Tanashi, Mitacs Advisors, will be joining DAIR to share how they can support Aerospace SMEs interested in working with universities and colleges to further innovation at their organization.
About this event
This free webinar provided an overview of Mitacs and the benefits of accessing their collaborative funding model which aims to combine the expertise and talent of academia with industry. Mitacs Advisors, Sudipa Chatterjee and Ahmed Tanashi, guided the participants through their programming using their experience as innovation intermediaries who have interacted with numerous industry partners (small and large) and post-secondary institutions.
This webinar was the first of two-parts: the first being an introduction to how Mitacs can support SMEs in the aerospace innovation landscape including success stories; the second will be to actively determine which post-secondary institutions SMEs can partner with to translate the expertise they need to help advance and commercialize their product or process.
Sudipa Chatterjee is a Mitacs Advisor supporting University of Toronto’s Engineering (including the Institute for Aerospace Studies, or UTIAS), and works with a number of initiatives and companies to promote the cross-collaboration between academia and industry. Sudipa holds a PhD in Experimental Medicine.
Ahmed Tanashi is an Advisor at Mitacs supporting Colleges in Ontario, helping to understand, access, and engage with Mitacs programming. Working directly with 13 public colleges in the province, he has a strong understanding of their research strengths and priorities. Ahmed’s background is in engineering (Mechanical and Biomedical) as well as environmental management, with experience working in the medical device manufacturing industry for an SME.
A Q&A session was held following the presentation.
